Late marriage due to Rahu-Ketu in 7th/1st axis in D9?

Vanakkam all,

I'm a 29F and my marriage has been significantly delayed. Every proposal just fizzles out, or things don't go forward for one reason or another. I've been told by a couple of astrologers that my D9 (Navamsha) chart has Rahu in the 7th house and Ketu in the 1st house, which might be a major contributor to the delay or complexities in relationships. I have also heard that Rahu in 7th can indicate a partner from a different background or culture.

My birth details: DOB: 1994-11-20, TOB: 10:15 PM, POB: Bangalore, Karnataka. In my Rashi chart, Venus, the karaka for marriage, is in Vrischika (Scorpio) and my 7th house lord is Mars (Mangal), placed in Kanya (Virgo). I'm currently in Brihaspati Mahadasha, with a Budha Antardasha. I thought Guru would be more benevolent towards marriage prospects.

Has anyone experienced similar placements of Rahu-Ketu in the Navamsha 1/7 axis causing such delays? What are the practical implications during their Gochara or Dasha periods? Are there any specific remedies or approaches suggested for such a configuration? I'm open to Nadi Jyotish perspectives as well, if they offer different insights.

Vanakkam! Your observation about Rahu-Ketu in the 1/7 axis of the D9 (Navamsha) chart is indeed a critical point for marriage delays and complexities. Rahu in the 7th house of D9 often indicates an unconventional marriage, a partner from a different background (culture, religion, social status), or a relationship that goes through significant changes and challenges before settling. Ketu in the 1st house can bring a sense of detachment or disillusionment regarding oneself and expectations from marriage.

Looking at your Rashi chart, Venus in Vrischika (Scorpio) is a powerful placement but can signify intense, transformative, and sometimes secretive relationships. The 7th lord Mars in Kanya (Virgo) can make you very discerning and critical of potential partners, perhaps leading to proposals fizzling out as you mentioned. While Brihaspati (Jupiter) Mahadasha is generally benevolent, if Guru is afflicted in your chart (e.g., by malefic aspects, placement in dusthana houses, or lord of such houses), or if it aspects Rahu/Ketu, its promise for marriage might manifest with delays or through unconventional paths. The current Budha (Mercury) Antardasha also needs careful examination; if Budha is connected to the 7th house or Venus, it can bring a window, but if it's also influenced by Rahu/Ketu or other malefics, the complexities persist.

For practical implications during Gochara, pay close attention when transit Guru aspects your D9 7th house or Venus, or when transit Shani aspects your Rashi 7th house or 7th lord Mars. Rahu/Ketu transits over natal Rahu/Ketu or the 7th axis in either D1 or D9 can intensify these themes. Remedially, performing Rahu-Ketu Shanti or Homa, especially during Rahu Kalam on specific days, can alleviate some of the nodal difficulties. Regularly chanting the Durga Saptashati or Devi Kavacham is also highly recommended, as Devi is the presiding deity for Rahu and Ketu.

I can totally relate to your situation! My D9 also has Rahu in the 7th house and Ketu in the 1st. For me, it meant a really long wait, almost until my mid-thirties, and my husband is indeed from a completely different cultural background than mine, just as you heard about Rahu in 7th. It was a journey with many heartbreaks and proposals that just never materialised, very similar to what you're describing.

During my Shani Mahadasha, the delays were excruciating, but it was during a Guru Antardasha within that Shani period that things finally started moving. So sometimes, Guru, even if strong, might need another planet's sub-period to activate. For remedies, I regularly visited a Navagraha temple near my home and performed Archana for Rahu and Ketu every week, especially on Sundays and Thursdays. I also tried to wear a Gomedh (Hessonite) gemstone after proper astrological consultation for Rahu. Many people also suggest visiting Thirunageswaram for Rahu and Kalahasti for Ketu dosha nivaranam. These parigarams definitely brought a sense of calm and clarity during those trying times.

That's a very clear description of your chart details, thank you! I'm a bit of a beginner, but I've heard about Rahu-Ketu axis bringing delays. I have a quick question though: have you checked the strength and placement of your D9 Lagna Lord? Sometimes if the D9 Lagna Lord is debilitated or in a dusthana, it can also add to the complexities of marriage, regardless of the Rahu-Ketu axis directly.

Also, just curious, is there any benefic planet like Jupiter or Venus aspecting your 7th house in the Rashi chart, or its lord Mars? Sometimes a strong benefic aspect can mitigate some of the delays, even if it doesn't remove them completely. Hang in there, I'm sure things will turn around with Guru Mahadasha!

Vanakkam. While Rahu-Ketu in the D9 1/7 axis is undoubtedly significant for marital affairs, I'd like to offer an alternative perspective, perhaps leaning towards a Nadi Jyotish view. Often, the foundational strength of the Rashi chart and the karakas hold more sway than just a single divisional chart placement, even if important. Your Venus, the kalatra karaka, is in Vrischika (Scorpio), a deeply emotional and transformative sign. This placement itself can bring intensity, sudden shifts, and a need for a profound connection, which can naturally delay finding a suitable partner. It's not always an easy placement for conventional relationships.

Furthermore, your 7th lord Mars in Kanya (Virgo) suggests a partner who is analytical, perhaps health-conscious, or involved in service. However, Mars in a debilitated sign like Kanya, while not technically debilitated, can lose some of its fiery proactiveness for marital matters and instead bring a critical or perfectionist approach. In Nadi, the connections between Venus, Mars, and Saturn, along with Jupiter's influence, are paramount. If Saturn aspects your Venus or 7th house, it will bring delays regardless of other factors. The Rahu-Ketu axis merely amplifies the existing energies rather than being the sole cause. Consider strengthening your Venus and Mars through appropriate mantra japa or offerings, perhaps focusing on Subramanya for Mars and Lakshmi for Venus.

Your query is quite common for those with nodal influence on the 7th house in Navamsha. Indeed, Rahu in the 7th D9 can bring about an unconventional path to marriage, and sometimes it indicates a partner who might be older, younger, foreign, or from a vastly different background. The delay you're experiencing, even during a Brihaspati (Jupiter) Mahadasha, could be due to Guru's placement or aspects in your chart. If Guru is in a difficult house (like 6th, 8th, or 12th from Lagna), or if it aspects Rahu directly, its beneficence might be expressed with a 'delayed but eventually good' outcome.

The current Budha (Mercury) Antardasha, which typically lasts around 2 years and 3 months, needs to be analysed carefully. If Budha is well-connected to your 7th house, 7th lord, or Venus in either D1 or D9, this period could activate marriage prospects. However, if Budha is also under malefic influence or in a tricky placement, it might only bring discussions and negotiations without concrete results. Keep a close watch on Guru's Gochara (transit) over your 7th house or Venus, and also when Shani (Saturn) aspects your natal 7th house or 7th lord. These transits often trigger significant life events, including marriage.

For remedies, besides the Rahu-Ketu specific ones, considering your 7th lord Mars in Kanya, worshipping Lord Muruga (Subramanya) can be very beneficial. Fasting on Tuesdays, or offering red flowers to Muruga, can strengthen Mars and help bring clarity and momentum. Regularly chanting the Guru mantra ('Om Gum Gurubhyo Namaha') can also help mitigate any challenges within your Brihaspati Mahadasha and enhance its positive effects.
