my career is in shambles and multiple failures, is it Shani dasha?

I'm 30M, and my career has been an absolute mess for the last few years. It feels like every opportunity I get just falls apart, or I face unexpected obstacles. I'm currently stuck in a job I hate, and any attempt to change it leads to more disappointment.

I'm currently running my Shani Mahadasha, with a Rahu Antardasha that just started. My birth details are [Date of Birth], [Time of Birth], [Place of Birth]. My Sani is placed in the 10th house (Karma Sthana) in Vrishabha Rasi, but it's retro. My Rahu is in the 6th house in Dhanusu. Could this combination be the reason for all this professional upheaval?

I've tried hard work, networking, everything, but nothing seems to stick. I'm really worried about my future and financial stability. What can I expect in this Rahu Bhukti under Shani Dasha? Are there any specific yogas or planetary placements in my Dasamsa chart that might indicate this persistent struggle?

Any insights or interpretations on my chart, especially concerning my career (Lagna, 10th house, 6th house, Dasamsa) would be greatly appreciated. I'm open to Upayas or remedies if anyone has suggestions based on their Jyotish knowledge.

Vanakam! Your situation during Shani Mahadasha, particularly with Rahu Antardasha starting, is a classic indication of career upheaval. Shani in the 10th house (Karma Sthana) in Vrishabha Rasi, being retrograde, indeed points to significant delays, re-evaluations, and karmic lessons in your professional life. Vrishabha is a fixed sign, so changes are slow and often resisted, making any career transition feel like pulling teeth. The retrograde nature amplifies this, forcing you to revisit foundational aspects of your work ethic and goals.

Now, with Rahu in the 6th house in Dhanusu and its Bhukti starting, the plot thickens. Rahu in the 6th can be a double-edged sword. While it generally helps overcome enemies and obstacles, during its own Antardasha under Shani, it can bring about unexpected challenges, deceptions, or unconventional career paths that initially feel unsettling. Dhanusu, being a fiery sign ruled by Guru Bhagavan, suggests that these challenges might involve ethical dilemmas, struggles with higher principles, or a need to redefine your sense of purpose within your work. It often indicates a foreign connection or an unconventional approach to problem-solving.

For your Dasamsa (D10) chart, it's crucial to examine the 10th lord, the Lagna lord of D10, and their placement and aspects. If these are afflicted or in difficult houses (like 6th, 8th, 12th) or conjoined with malefic planets, it strongly corroborates the struggles seen in your D1 chart. Shani's aspects from the 10th house also hit the 12th, 4th, and 7th houses from the Lagna, which can cause dissatisfaction in overall life, home peace, and partnerships, further contributing to professional stress. This period demands patience, introspection, and consistent effort without immediate gratification.

Oh, I completely resonate with your struggles! My Shani Mahadasha started when I was around 28, and it felt like my career went into a complete tailspin. My Sani is in Makara Rasi in the 7th house, and I was running a Budha Antardasha for a while, which also made communication and networking feel incredibly difficult. It was a period of extreme self-doubt and feeling stuck in a job I tolerated, not loved.

When my Guru Bhagavan's Antardasha came in Sani Mahadasa, things started to slowly improve, but the pressure from Sani was always there. The feeling of 'nothing seems to stick' is very real during this Dasha. I remember feeling very disheartened, just like you. I'd recommend looking at the Navamsa chart too, not just Dasamsa, as it can give deeper insights into your inner strength and dharma during these tough times. Hang in there, it's a testing period but also one of immense growth.

This is a very insightful thread! I'm a beginner trying to understand Jyotish better. Can someone explain what exactly it means for Shani to be 'retrograde'? Does it mean its effects are stronger, or weaker, or just different? And when you talk about the Dasamsa chart, is that like a zoomed-in version of the career house? How do you even calculate your Dasamsa Lagna? I'm trying to follow along with the planetary placements but some terms are still a bit confusing for me. Any help would be appreciated!

While Shani Mahadasha with Rahu Antardasha certainly brings its share of challenges, I'd suggest we don't solely attribute all professional upheaval to this combination. Rahu in the 6th house, an Upachaya sthana, can actually be quite potent for overcoming adversaries and achieving success through unconventional means, especially in competitive fields. Dhanusu Rasi placement, being a Jupiterian sign, suggests that while there might be struggles with ethics or finding your moral compass initially, ultimately it can lead to growth and wisdom, perhaps even through a mentor or spiritual guide.

Instead of just the planetary positions, have you looked into the strength of your 10th lord in the D1 chart, and the disposition of your Lagna lord in the Dasamsa? Sometimes, even strong Raj Yogas or Dhana Yogas might be present but are temporarily suppressed due to the current Dasha sequence. Also, current transits of Guru and Shani should be considered in conjunction with your natal chart. For instance, if Guru is currently transiting a favorable house from your natal Moon or Lagna, it can offer some relief or new opportunities, even if challenging.

For powerful Upayas during this potent Shani-Rahu period, several practices can bring considerable relief. Given your Shani is in Vrishabha and Rahu in Dhanusu, appeasing both these celestial bodies is key. For Shani Bhagavan, regularly visiting a Navagraha temple, especially on Saturdays, and offering til oil (sesame oil) lamps can be very beneficial. Chanting the Shani Moola Mantra (Om Pram Preem Proum Sah Shanaischaraya Namaha) 108 times daily is highly recommended. Fasting on Saturdays or consuming only one meal is also a powerful practice.

For Rahu, especially in the 6th house, performing remedies during Rahu Kalam on Tuesdays or Fridays can be effective. Visiting a Rahu Kethu temple like Sri Kalahasti or offering prayers to Goddess Durga can mitigate the negative influences. Chanting the Rahu Moola Mantra (Om Bhram Bhreem Bhroum Sah Rahave Namaha) will help. Feeding black birds or crows is also a traditional remedy for Shani and Rahu. Don't forget to maintain cleanliness and humility, as these naturally align with Shani's energies. Consistent devotion and performing good karma will help you navigate this period with grace.

Indeed, the combination you describe strongly suggests the root of your professional struggles. Shani in the 10th house, retrograde in Vrishabha, implies a deep-seated karmic debt related to your profession. Vrishabha is a sign of stability, resources, and material well-being, ruled by Shukra. When Shani, the planet of hard work and delays, retrogrades here, it forces a re-evaluation of your values concerning work, wealth, and stability. There might be a sense of being undervalued or unappreciated despite your efforts. The dispositor of Shani, Shukra, and its condition in your chart (D1 and D10) would provide further clarity.

The advent of Rahu Antardasha, with Rahu in the 6th house in Dhanusu, will undoubtedly amplify the uncertainty. The 6th house deals with service, daily work, conflicts, and health. Rahu here can create unconventional work scenarios, bring in foreign elements or people, or even lead to disputes that disrupt your professional peace. Dhanusu is a dual sign, which can make decision-making regarding career paths very confusing during this Bhukti. It's not uncommon to feel a sudden urge for radical change, yet find roadblocks at every turn.

Crucially, in your Dasamsa (D10), check the strength of the 10th lord from the D10 Lagna, and any planetary connections to the 6th and 8th houses. If your D10 Lagna lord or 10th lord is afflicted by Shani or Rahu, or placed in difficult houses, it paints a clearer picture of sustained professional strife. This period is a crucible for transformation; while difficult, it's ultimately designed to refine your approach to karma and career, preparing you for a more stable and authentic path post-Shani Dasha.
