Guru Dasha, Budhan Bukthi - My Experience with Career Changes & Financial Volatility

Greetings to the esteemed members of JyotishVidya!

I'm currently undergoing a significant astrological period in my life – the Guru Dasha, specifically the Budhan Bukthi (sub-period of Mercury in Jupiter's major period). My Lagnam is Simmam, and my Janma Rasi is Mithunam. I wanted to share my experiences and seek insights from the community on this particular planetary combination.

Guru (Jupiter) is generally seen as a benevolent planet, signifying wisdom, expansion, wealth, and spiritual growth. However, its Dasha can bring results based on its lordship and placement in the chart. Budhan (Mercury), on the other hand, is the planet of intellect, communication, business, and adaptability. In my chart, Guru is placed in the 9th house (Dhanusu, its own Moolatrikona Rasi) and Budhan is in the 10th house (Makaram, with Sani). This combination suggests a period of learning, dharma, career focus, and practical application of intellect.

True to its nature, this Bukthi has brought about a period of remarkable changes, particularly in my career and financial standing. I experienced an unexpected job transition into a completely new sector requiring intense learning and analytical skills, very much aligned with Budhan's significations. There's been an expansion in my responsibilities (Guru's influence), but also a constant need to adapt and communicate effectively (Budhan's domain). Financially, it's been a mix of gains and significant outflows, indicating a certain volatility that I'm trying to understand better through the lens of Jyotish.

Have others experienced similar outcomes during their Guru Dasha, Budhan Bukthi period, especially if Budhan is in a practical, earthy sign like Makaram? How do you interpret the interplay between a powerful Guru and an analytical Budhan? Any thoughts on how the Gochara of Sani and Guru might be influencing this specific Dasha-Bukthi period are also welcome. I am looking for both general interpretations and shared experiences to deepen my understanding.

What a fantastic breakdown of your Dasha/Bukthi! I can totally relate to the mix of gains and outflows; it's like two steps forward, one step back sometimes, but always progressing. Your experience truly highlights the intricate dance of the planets. Keep up the good work!

From a deeper Jyotish perspective, beyond just the houses, the Nakshatra placements of Guru, Budhan, and Sani would offer even more granular insights. Guru in Dhanusu in its Moolatrikona is excellent, and if it's in Purvashada or Uttarashada Nakshatra, its results could be further amplified or nuanced. Similarly, Budhan and Sani in Makaram, depending on their Nakshatra lords (Uttarashada, Sravanam, Dhanishta), would define the exact flavor of your career changes and financial dealings.

The aspect of Guru from the 9th house on your Lagnam (Simmam) and the 5th house (intelligence, speculation) further supports the learning and analytical skills you mentioned. Sani's 3rd aspect on the 12th house (expenditures, foreign lands), 7th aspect on the 4th house (home, happiness), and 10th aspect on the 7th house (partnerships, public image) from its 10th house placement would also be impacting your overall life, possibly contributing to the outflows (12th house aspect) or influencing your work-life balance (4th house aspect). Considering these aspects in conjunction with the Dasha lords gives a more complete picture.

I went through my Budhan Dasha a few years ago, and while my Lagnam is different (Kanni), Budhan rules my 10th house. I didn't have Guru Dasha then, but during my Budhan Dasha, Budhan was in the 7th house with Rahu. It was a period of intense intellectual growth and a lot of communication-heavy work, but also significant instability in professional partnerships and finances. The 'intense learning' and 'analytical skills' you describe are very much Budhan's domain.

The combination of Budhan with Sani in the 10th, even for Simmam Lagnam, seems to create a very structured yet demanding work environment. Your financial volatility could be due to Budhan's natural duality being amplified by Sani's slow, steady, yet sometimes challenging influence. It's truly a test of your mental resilience and ability to adapt.

While I agree with many points regarding Guru's strength in the 9th and Budhan's analytical power, I would cautiously suggest that the 'unexpected job transition' and 'financial volatility' might be more strongly influenced by the specific Gochara (transit) planets at the time of the events, especially Sani and Rahu/Kethu, in addition to the Dasha-Bukthi lords. For Simmam Lagnam, Sani's transit through certain houses can be quite impactful on career and finances.

Also, Budhan being with Sani in the 10th, while making you practical, might indicate a period where career success comes through significant hard work and overcoming obstacles, rather than smooth sailing. Makaram is Sani's own sign, making it strong, but Sani's nature is to demand effort. The combination might be pushing you to be more systematic and patient, even if the initial journey feels turbulent. It's not just Budhan's inherent dual nature, but Sani's 'karma' influence that could be driving the need for constant adaptation and the 'mix of gains and significant outflows' as a result of new responsibilities and hard-earned success.

That's a very insightful sharing! I'm curious about one aspect: How is the current Gochara Sani (transit Sani) impacting your chart, especially since your Janma Rasi is Mithunam and Lagnam is Simmam? Sani's transit can often heavily influence the results of Dasha and Bukthi periods.

Currently, Sani is transiting Kumbham, which is the 7th house from your Simmam Lagnam and the 9th house from your Janma Rasi Mithunam. For Simmam, Sani's transit through the 7th can bring significant changes in partnerships or public dealings, and often requires adjustment. For Mithunam, Sani in the 9th can also influence dharma and fortune, sometimes causing delays or requiring more disciplined efforts in these areas. Do you feel this Gochara Sani is adding to the volatility you're experiencing in your Guru Dasha, Budhan Bukthi?

Your experiences are truly a testament to the power of Guru and Budhan during their Dasha and Bukthi periods. Guru Dasha always expands, and Budhan Bukthi brings that intellectual agility to navigate the new landscape. It sounds like a challenging yet incredibly growth-oriented period for you.

Keep focusing on honest communication and disciplined learning, which are Budhan's strengths, and embrace the wisdom and expansion that Guru offers. This phase, though marked by financial volatility, is ultimately shaping you for greater things. Continue to observe the planetary energies and use them to your advantage!
