My Shani Mahadasha and job changes, feeling stuck

I'm currently going through my Shani Mahadasha and I feel like everything has just become so stagnant, especially in my career. I'm really struggling to find stability and I keep feeling stuck in a loop of job changes or dissatisfaction.

My Lagna is Mithunam and Shani is placed in the 8th house in Dhanusu. I've been told this position can bring significant challenges during its Dasha. Currently, I am in the Shani-Budha Antardasha. Budha is my Lagna lord, but it's also conjoined with Rahu in the 2nd house, Kadagam. I'm wondering if this combination is intensifying the difficulties, particularly with finances and communication at work.

I'm experiencing a lot of mental stress and financial strain. It feels like every time I try to move forward, there's a new obstacle. Is this typical for this particular Dasha and Antardasha period, especially with Shani in the 8th from Lagna?

I'm looking for any insights on when things might start to look up, or if there are specific Parigarams or Upayas I should be considering to mitigate these challenging energies. Any advice from those who have navigated similar periods would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings, fellow seeker. Your situation resonates deeply with the typical experiences of a Shani Mahadasha, especially with Shani placed in the 8th house, a known 'dusthana'. For Mithunam Lagna, Dhanusu is indeed the 8th bhava, ruled by Guru. Shani's presence here often signifies profound transformations, breaks, and sudden changes, particularly impacting the longevity of ventures and financial stability from external sources. The Astama Shani effect can be quite intense, forcing one to confront hidden weaknesses and bringing unexpected hurdles.

Now, layering the Shani-Budha Antardasha onto this, it becomes clearer why you're feeling the pinch. Budha, though your Lagna lord, signifies intellect and communication. Its conjunction with Rahu in the 2nd house (Kadagam), a Maraka Sthana, is indeed a significant factor. The 2nd house rules wealth, speech, and family. Rahu here can create illusions, sudden gains or losses, and dissatisfaction in financial matters. It can also disrupt clear communication and lead to misunderstandings, especially at work, which is further exacerbated by Shani's aspect on the 2nd house from the 8th.

This period is designed to teach detachment and resilience. While challenging, it's not without purpose. The relief might start to appear as you move into the next Antardashas, especially when a benefic planet's influence becomes stronger. For now, focus on meticulous financial planning and mindful communication. These periods demand patience and a pragmatic approach.

I completely understand what you're going through. During my own Shani Mahadasha, when Shani was in my 6th house, I faced immense career struggles and health issues. It felt like walking through quicksand. The initial years were the toughest, especially when coupled with certain challenging Antardashas. I remember feeling so unmotivated and questioning every decision. What helped me was focusing on duty and discipline, no matter how small the task. Don't underestimate the power of simply showing up and doing the work, even if it feels unrewarding now. Things do slowly improve, it's just a very, very slow process with Sani Bhagavan.

Thanks for sharing your chart details. Just a quick question: have you checked the strength of your Budha in the Vargas, particularly in the Navamsha and Dashamsha (D-10) charts? I'm wondering if its position there might offer some additional insights into its ability to deliver results, despite the Rahu conjunction in the Rashi chart. Also, is your Rahu exalted or debilitated?

While Shani in the 8th and Budha with Rahu in the 2nd certainly present hurdles, let's not forget Budha is your Lagna Lord. This can be a saving grace, as the Lagna Lord always strives to protect the native, even through difficulties. The conjunction with Rahu in Kadagam (a watery sign) might indicate a deep desire for financial security, possibly leading to unconventional methods or sudden turns in earning. It could also mean that after this period of mental stress and financial strain, you might find a unique path to stability that wasn't apparent before.

Perhaps the 'stuck' feeling is actually a process of breaking down old structures to build something entirely new and more aligned with your dharma. Have you considered looking at the dispositor of Rahu, Chandra, and its placement in your chart?

For mitigating the effects of Shani in the 8th, performing Shani Tailabhishekam on Saturdays at a Navagraha temple or any Shani shrine can be very beneficial. Chanting the Shani Moola Mantra 'Om Pram Preem Proum Sah Shanaye Namah' 108 times daily, especially during the Shani Hora or Rahu Kalam, can provide strength.

Since Budha is involved and conjoined with Rahu, consider reciting Vishnu Sahasranamam, as Vishnu is the presiding deity for Budha. Also, offering green gram (moong dal) to cows on Wednesdays and donating to those in need can help balance the energies of Budha and Rahu. Don't forget to maintain a disciplined routine, as Shani highly values discipline and perseverance.

Indeed, the Mahadasha of Shani always brings profound lessons, and its placement in the 8th house for Mithunam Lagna is a classic significator of major life overhauls, especially pertaining to shared resources, sudden upheavals, and longevity matters. The current Antardasha of Budha, your Lagna lord, co-present with Rahu in the 2nd house (family, wealth, speech), further complicates matters. This combination can trigger intense anxiety regarding security and create a sense of disorientation in communication, leading to job dissatisfaction.

Beyond the Dasha-Bhukti, it's crucial to consider current transits. Is Guru (Jupiter) currently transiting any sensitive points in your chart? Guru's transit can often offer some protective or expansive influence, even during challenging Dashas. Also, observe the current transit of Sani itself and its aspectual influence on your Natal Shani or other significant planets. Shani aspects the 2nd, 5th, and 10th houses from its natal position, further influencing your finances, progeny/speculation, and career karma. This period demands a deeper understanding of your karmic debts and a conscious effort to fulfill them with integrity. Don't look for quick fixes; focus on long-term structural changes in your life.

I've been there, my friend. My Shani Mahadasha started when I was much younger, and it felt like a never-ending test. I also experienced a lot of false starts in my career and financial instability. What I learned is that Shani doesn't deny, it delays, and it tests your sincerity and patience. With Shani in the 8th, it's forcing you to confront deeper psychological issues and the concept of impermanence.

The struggle with finances and communication with Budha-Rahu in the 2nd is also a common theme – it makes you question your inherent values and what true security means. Keep up your spiritual practices, be honest in all your dealings, and embrace the lessons. These are growth periods, even if they feel like an uphill battle. The strength you gain now will be invaluable later.
