Anbana JyotishVidya Pengal & Aangal,

The recent Sani Peyarchi, with Sani Bhagavan currently transiting in Kumbam Rasi, continues to be a period of significant astrological interest. For natives of Makara Rasi, this transit represents the concluding phase of Ezharai Sani (the 7.5 year cycle of Saturn), specifically the Viraya Sani or the last 2.5 years. This phase is often described as a period of introspection, letting go, and learning to adapt to new realities.

Many Makara Rasi natives I've spoken to or whose charts I've analyzed during this period report varied experiences. Some have found it to be a time of unexpected expenses, health concerns (especially bone or joint-related), or a feeling of isolation and increased responsibilities without proportional rewards. Others, however, have used this period for deep spiritual growth, shedding old patterns, and preparing for a more stable future. Sani's influence, being a Karma Karaka, always brings lessons.

I'm particularly interested in hearing from Makara Rasi natives here or those who have observed this transit closely for others. What have been your primary experiences? Have you noticed shifts in career, finances, relationships, or health? Have there been significant changes in your daily routine or mindset?

Furthermore, what Parigarams (remedies) have you found most effective during this final leg of Ezharai Sani? Beyond the common practices of visiting Thirunallar Sani Bhagavan temple, offering til oil lamps, or chanting Sani mantras, have any specific upayas (such as serving the needy, practicing selfless service, or specific meditations during Sani Horai) provided noticeable relief? Let's share our insights to help each other navigate this powerful Gochara with wisdom and resilience.

Vannakkam to the JyotishVidya community! This is a very pertinent discussion for Makara Rasi natives. As a practitioner, I've observed that Sani's transit in Kumbam Rasi, which is the Dhana Sthanam for Makara Rasi, is indeed a Viraya Sani phase. Sani, being the Lagnadhipathi for Makara, and also the Dhana Karaka, transiting into the 2nd house from Janma Rasi often brings a focus on financial restructuring, even if it means initial expenses or a dip in savings. The aspect of Sani on the 4th house (Sukran's house, Rishabam) can affect domestic peace or properties, and his aspect on the 8th house (Budhan's house, Simham) can lead to unexpected changes or even health concerns related to bones or chronic ailments. It's a period where one must be extremely diligent with finances and health.

Furthermore, Sani's direct aspect on the 11th house (Sevvai's house, Viruchigam) can impact older siblings, networks, and gains. The lessons here are profound: learn to differentiate between wants and needs, practice detachment from material possessions, and understand the true value of inner peace. The Viraya Sani essentially prepares you for the next cycle by clearing out accumulated karmic baggage and making you appreciate simplicity. Those running Sani Dasha or Bhukti during this Gochara will feel the effects more intensely, especially if Sani is ill-placed in their natal chart.

My experience as a Makara Rasi native during this Viraya Sani has been quite challenging, to say the least. Financially, it feels like money just flows out as quickly as it comes in. There have been unexpected expenses related to home repairs and a sudden medical emergency for an elderly family member, which drained a significant portion of my savings. My health has also seen some issues, particularly nagging joint pains that were never there before. I've also felt a distinct sense of isolation, even amidst friends and family, as if Sani Bhagavan is forcing me to look inwards.

I've tried to engage in spiritual practices more, visiting a local Sani temple and chanting the Hanuman Chalisa. While the financial strain hasn't completely eased, I do feel a certain mental fortitude building up. It’s like Sani is stripping away everything that isn't essential, making me re-evaluate my priorities. The hardest part has been dealing with increased responsibilities at work without much recognition. I hope the concluding phase truly brings the lessons it promises and prepares me for a better future.

This is a very insightful post. I'm a beginner in Jyothisham, and I'm a Makara Rasi native. Could someone explain a bit more about what 'Viraya Sani' specifically means compared to the earlier phases of Ezharai Sani, like Janma Sani or Kudumba Sani? I understand it's about letting go, but what kind of 'letting go' is Sani Bhagavan primarily asking for during this last phase?

I respectfully disagree with the overly pessimistic view sometimes attached to Sani's transits. While Sani is undoubtedly a Karma Karaka and brings lessons, his Viraya Sani phase for Makara Rasi can be incredibly transformative, especially for those with a strong Guru in their natal chart or if Guru is currently transiting favorably. Sani, as the Lagnathipathi for Makara, is inherently well-disposed towards his own Rasi natives. The Viraya Sani in Kumbam, which is Sani's Moolatrikona Rasi, can provide strong spiritual growth and detachment, paving the way for a solid future.

I've seen charts where Makara Rasi natives, during this period, have successfully shed long-standing negative habits, pursued higher spiritual knowledge, or even emigrated to find better opportunities. The 'expenses' can often be investments in self-improvement or necessary changes for growth. It's about how one embraces the discipline Sani brings. If Guru's grace is present through strong Dasha-Bhukti or beneficial Gochara, the challenges become opportunities for significant advancement.

For Makara Rasi natives undergoing Viraya Sani, I highly recommend regular visits to Navagraha Sani temples, not just Thirunallar. Any Sani temple where Bhagavan is enshrined with his consorts, Manda Devi and Jyestha Devi, can be very beneficial. Lighting Til Oil lamps on Saturdays during Sani Horai or even during Rahu Kalam can bring immense relief. Chanting the 'Om Pram Preem Proum Sah Shanaye Namaha' Moola Mantra 108 times daily is also a powerful parigaram. Additionally, offering black urad dal or sesame seeds to the poor on Saturdays is a traditional and effective way to appease Sani Bhagavan. The act of selfless service (seva) truly resonates with Sani's energy.

Great analysis! I'm a Makara Rasi native and everything you've mentioned, especially the financial restructuring and feeling of isolation, resonates deeply with my current experiences. It's tough, but I'm trying to see it as a period of necessary spiritual cleansing.

My career has seen significant shifts during this Sani Peyarchi. I'm a Makara Rasi native, and I've been in the same company for over a decade. Suddenly, there were changes in management, and I felt a strong urge to leave and start something new, despite the financial uncertainties. It felt like Sani Bhagavan was pushing me out of my comfort zone. It has been a period of immense learning, but also a lot of stress. In terms of relationships, I've had to let go of a few friendships that were no longer serving my growth, which was emotionally taxing but ultimately liberating. It truly feels like a 'shedding' phase.

Beyond temples, a very simple yet potent parigaram for Viraya Sani is to feed crows on Saturdays. Crows are considered vehicles of Sani Bhagavan, and offering them food, especially sesame rice, is believed to mitigate negative effects. Another powerful remedy is to perform service to the elderly or the disabled. Sani represents the downtrodden, and by helping them, we align with Sani's compassionate aspect. Wearing an iron ring on the middle finger after consulting a Jyothishi can also provide some energetic support. Always ensure you are in alignment with the planetary energies by maintaining ethical conduct and patience.

This discussion is very timely. I'm also a Makara Rasi native and I'm currently running the Budhan Dasha, Sani Bhukti. The impact has been profound. My natal Sani is exalted in Tula Rasi in the 10th house, but its current Gochara position still brings its share of challenges. The Viraya Sani in the 2nd house (Kumbam) from my Janma Rasi, aspecting the 8th house (Simham), has brought unexpected changes in my income sources and a lot of emotional turbulence. It feels like a continuous process of self-assessment and letting go. I've found that chanting the Sani Gayathri Mantra and meditating regularly helps to calm the mind and accept the changes with more grace. It's a true test of patience and resilience.

I've noticed a significant shift in my mindset. As a Makara Rasi native, I used to be very focused on material achievements and career progression. However, with this Viraya Sani, I've found myself becoming much more introspective and detached. The drive for external success has lessened, replaced by a quest for inner peace and spiritual understanding. It's almost as if Sani is forcing me to look beyond the transient world and find meaning in deeper aspects of life. It’s been a subtle but profound change in my daily routine and priorities.

For Makara Rasi, Sani is the Lagnathipathi, and his transit in Kumbam Rasi, which is the Dhana Sthanam (2nd house), as Viraya Sani, is indeed about detachment from material possessions and re-evaluation of values. Consider also Sani's journey through different Nakshatras within Kumbam. Initially, during Dhanishta and Satabhisham, the focus was perhaps more on sudden expenses or unexpected changes in social circles, often linked to Rahu's influence (as Rahu is the co-ruler of Satabhisham). As Sani moves into Purvabhadrapada (ruled by Guru), there might be a subtle shift towards spiritual learning or philosophical insights, though expenses could continue due to Guru's expansive nature. The key is to embrace the disciplined approach Sani brings to your finances and speech during this final leg. Jupiter's current transit through Mesham as the 4th Lord can also offer some protection for domestic matters, but Sani's aspects are very powerful.

This is extremely relevant! I'm a Makara Rasi, and the health concerns, especially bone-related issues, have been spot on. My mother, also a Makara Rasi, has been experiencing similar joint pains. What specific parigarams are best for health issues during this Viraya Sani?

For Makara Rasi, undergoing Viraya Sani, consider performing Sani Shanti Homa, especially if your natal Sani is weak or afflicted. This is a more elaborate parigaram that can bring significant relief. Also, fasting on Saturdays, or at least consuming only one meal, can be very beneficial. Donating black clothing or blankets to the needy, especially on Saturday evenings, is another powerful remedy. It's about embracing Sani's qualities of humility and service. Remember, Sani's lessons are always for our ultimate good, guiding us towards spiritual maturity and strength.

My experience has been one of deep spiritual growth. I'm a Makara Rasi native, and while there were some financial adjustments, I wouldn't call them 'losses' but rather a re-prioritization. I've used this Viraya Sani to declutter my life, both physically and emotionally. It's been a period of intense introspection, meditation, and reading spiritual texts. I feel like Sani Bhagavan has gifted me with a profound sense of inner peace and a clear vision for my future, free from old patterns and attachments. It's like a karmic cleansing, preparing me for a fresh start when Sani moves out of Kumbam.

I concur with the original post. The Viraya Sani for Makara Rasi is undeniably a period of significant astrological interest. While challenging, it's a phase that, if navigated with awareness and proper parigarams, can lead to remarkable personal and spiritual evolution. Thanks for starting this important discussion.

Vanakkam! As a Makara Rasi native currently experiencing the Viraya Sani phase, I can deeply relate to the introspection and 'letting go' mentioned. My experience has been primarily financial. Unexpected expenses have surfaced, particularly related to home repairs and health check-ups. It feels like money just flows out, almost uncontrollably. I've also noticed a significant dip in my energy levels, and a feeling of being overburdened with responsibilities without much appreciation.

On the flip side, this period has forced me to re-evaluate my spending habits and seek more spiritual solace. I've started chanting Sani Gayatri Mantra regularly and visiting a local Navagraha Sani sannidhi on Saturdays during Sani Horai. These practices do offer some mental peace, though the material challenges persist. I'm hopeful that as Sani Bhagavan prepares to move out of Kumbam Rasi, things will stabilize.

Excellent thread! For Makara Rasi natives, Sani's transit through Kumbam is indeed a critical phase, primarily impacting the Dhana Sthanam (2nd house) from their Janma Rasi. This placement, being Viraya Sani, often brings expenses or issues related to family wealth and speech. Additionally, Sani aspects the 4th house (Sukha Sthanam), the 8th house (Ayul Sthanam), and the 11th house (Labha Sthanam).

The aspect on the 4th house can cause disturbances in domestic peace, mother's health, or property matters. The aspect on the 8th house, while Sani is the Lord of Makaram and Kumbam, could indicate chronic issues or sudden transformations. The aspect on the 11th house, where Guru is the natural significator of gains, might restrict income or cause delays in achieving aspirations. It's crucial to analyze the natal placement of Sani and other planets like Budhan and Sukran to get a clearer picture of the intensity of these effects during this Gochara.

I'm a Makara Rasi native with my Janma Nakshatram in Sravanam. This Viraya Sani has been a mixed bag for me. Health-wise, yes, some joint pains have flared up which I never had before. Financially, it's a tight rope walk. However, I've found an unexpected spiritual awakening. I started volunteering at an old age home, and the satisfaction I get from selfless service is immense. It's truly a 'karma karaka' teaching me the value of giving.

Regarding Parigarams, besides the usual Sani Pujas, I found that donating black urad dal and sesame oil to the needy on Saturdays has been quite effective. Also, I make sure to light a Til Oil lamp for Sani Bhagavan every Saturday evening. It doesn't magically solve all problems, but it definitely brings a sense of calm and resilience to face the challenges.

This is a great discussion! I'm curious about the specific impact on relationships for Makara Rasi during Viraya Sani. My 7th house lord, Chandra, is currently in a challenging position from Sani. I've noticed a significant amount of misunderstanding and emotional distance creeping into my primary relationship. Is this a common experience for Makara Rasi natives during this phase, especially if their 7th house or its lord is afflicted in the natal chart?

Are there any specific Parigarams recommended for relationship harmony during this period, beyond the general Sani Shanti pujas? Perhaps something related to Guru or Sukran, who are also relevant for relationships?

While many highlight the challenges of Viraya Sani, I'd like to offer a slightly different perspective. For Makara Rasi, Sani is their Janma Rasi lord. So Sani's transit, even in the 2nd house (Kumbam), might not always be as severe as it is for other Rasis. Sani is in his own Moolatrikon in Kumbam, which gives him inherent strength. This strength can manifest as the ability to endure, overcome, and build a stronger foundation for the future.

In my observation, those Makara Rasi natives who have a well-placed Guru or Budhan in their natal chart, or are currently running a beneficial Dasha-Bukthi (e.g., Guru Dasha), tend to navigate this Viraya Sani with more grace. It's more about 'shedding' what no longer serves them rather than outright loss. The lessons are profound, leading to significant personal growth and spiritual maturity.
